New york: The United Nations has announced its readiness to host a trilateral meeting involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. This development comes as UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres expressed his willingness to facilitate discussions at the UN headquarters during the General Assembly.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Guterres emphasized the importance of such a meeting by stating, “I would be happy to do so if possible, and I consider it absolutely essential to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine and create the conditions for a transition to a just peace.” This initiative is seen as a crucial step towards resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The announcement coincides with continued dialogue between Moscow and Washington on the Ukrainian settlement. US envoys Steve Wittkopf and Jared Kushner recently visited Moscow and Kyiv to engage in talks. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov characterized the discussions in Moscow as “substantive, constructive, and very frank,” highlighting the seriousness of the efforts to address the situation.
