Gaza: The United Nations and its umbrella organizations have issued a stark warning that mass food deprivation is becoming the norm in Gaza. They highlighted the widespread prevalence of malnutrition and severe hunger among the population of the Strip, which is leading to a daily death toll, particularly affecting children and women.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that the Israeli authorities have issued another displacement order for parts of northern Gaza. The statement noted extremely concerning reports of both children and adults suffering from malnutrition in hospitals, which are struggling with limited resources to provide adequate treatment.

The OCHA further reported that the energy crisis in Gaza is worsening despite the resumption of limited fuel imports. Fuel shortages have led to the suspension of solid waste collection over the past two days, and more water wells have been shut down, particularly in Deir al-Balah.

Specific health services, such as kidney dialysis, have seen reductions or closures due to the fuel shortages, with expectations that more services will be terminated. The limited fuel available is being prioritized for essential services like health, water, and communications, as well as for operating vehicles. The movement of humanitarian aid within Gaza remains heavily restricted, with only seven out of 13 attempts to coordinate the movement of relief workers and supplies with the occupation authorities being successful.

Food shortages have reached unprecedented levels in Gaza as a result of the strict closure enforced by Israeli occupation on all crossings. UN and international organizations have confirmed that famine has become a harsh reality for the population of the Strip, with the international community yet to take decisive action to alleviate the crisis.
