Mosul: The President of the University of Mosul, Dr. Waheed Al-Ibrahimi, announced the launch of a sustainable solar energy project with a production capacity of 30 megawatts, funded by a German grant of 40 million euros. The project aims to support the energy sector and serve the university and the community in Nineveh Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Ibrahimi stated that the project represents an important step towards strengthening reliance on clean and sustainable energy sources. He explained that the university is working on implementing quality projects that contribute to developing infrastructure and supporting development in the governorate.

He added that the solar energy project will provide a sustainable source of energy, enhancing the efficiency of the electricity grid and reducing dependence on traditional energy sources, in addition to providing an opportunity to develop scientific and research expertise in the field of renewable energy.

Al-Ibrahimi emphasized that the 40 million euro German grant reflects the importance of the project and its role in supporting the University of Mosul and Nineveh. He pointed out that the university is committed to investing in international partnerships to implement projects that serve the community and keep pace with modern trends in the field of sustainable energy.
