New Administrative Capital:Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has announced the country’s readiness to take any measures requested by Saudi Arabia to ensure its security. He has called for an emergency session of the House of Representatives to consider granting the armed forces a mandate to act if necessary, emphasizing that such actions would be defensive rather than offensive.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, el-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s commitment to supporting its “brethren in the Gulf,” affirming that Egypt stands ready to protect and defend the territories of these neighboring countries.
The statements were made during a graduation ceremony at the Egyptian Military Academy in the New Administrative Capital. President el-Sisi also took the opportunity to express gratitude towards Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait for their support in 2013, particularly in providing essential supplies like petroleum, gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and wheat without conditions.
