US Military Sinks Ecuadorian Vessel Tied to Drug Trafficking

Pacific ocean: The US Southern Command has announced the sinking of an Ecuadorian ship allegedly connected to the “Los Choneros” cartel and drug trafficking activities in Latin America. The incident took place in the eastern Pacific Ocean, where the vessel was reportedly functioning as a floating refueling station supporting drug trafficking operations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the joint force intercepted the vessel, removed the individuals on board, and subsequently sank the ship. The individuals are set to be handed over to Ecuadorian authorities. The announcement was accompanied by a video showcasing military personnel boarding the vessel, followed by a helicopter striking it with a projectile, leading to its sinking.

The Southern Command emphasized that US forces are continuing operations aimed at dismantling logistical networks that facilitate drug trafficking in the Western Hemisphere. Despite the US’s decisive actions, Ecuadorian authorities have not yet released a statement regarding the incident. Media reports indicate that this is the fifth vessel targeted by US forces in less than two weeks as part of a broader strategy to dismantle drug trafficking logistics infrastructure in the region.
