Baghdad: The Ministry of Defense announced today that remnants of war attributed to the terrorist group ISIS have been uncovered within the Al-Jazeera Operations Command sector.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry detailed in a statement that a security operation was conducted in the Al-Jabriyah area, based on precise intelligence information. This operation was led by a force from the 2nd Regiment of the 8th Infantry Brigade, part of the 7th Infantry Division, with assistance from a field engineering detachment of the division.
The Ministry’s statement further revealed that the operation successfully unearthed several war remnants linked to ISIS, including a cylindrical improvised explosive device (IED), two anti-tank mines, two detonator rulers, and an 81mm mortar round. The field engineering detachment safely detonated these materials on-site, ensuring there were no incidents during the process.
