Gaza: The United Nations World Food Program announced its efforts to provide food as quickly as possible to the largest possible number of residents of the Gaza Strip after the reopening of the crossings under the ceasefire agreement. “We are trying to reach a million people as soon as possible, and we will provide flour and ready-to-eat meals and we will work on all fronts to resupply bakeries and provide nutritional supplements for the children most affected by malnutrition,” said Karl Skow, Deputy Executive Director of the program, noting that “the organization’s trucks, based in Rome, have begun entering the Strip.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Skow explained that “the ceasefire agreement stipulates the entry of 600 trucks daily, and that the first part of this aid will be humanitarian in conjunction with the opening of all crossings, and we have planned to send 150 trucks daily for at least 20 days, and we can provide more.”

The first trucks of the World Food Program entered Gaza today, through Karam Abu Salem crossing in the south of the Strip and the Zikim crossing in the north, according to a statement by the United Nations World Food Program.

The United Nations World Food Program confirmed that it stored enough food near the Gaza Strip to feed more than a million people for three months.
