Moscow: US envoys Steve Wittkopf and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday for talks on ending the conflict in Ukraine.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that his envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Wittkopf, would visit Russia and Ukraine with a proposal to end the four-year war between the two countries. Trump expressed optimism about the mission, stating, “They have a proposal to end the war… We sent them to see if we can come to some conclusions, and there may be a good chance we can.”

On Friday, Trump reiterated his belief that his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, would not attack NATO countries, despite Germany this week accusing Moscow of attempting a drone attack at Leipzig Airport. In the Oval Office, Trump responded to a question about the German allegations, saying, “I talk to him. I know him very well. Putin is not looking to attack NATO territory.”
