Damascus: The Zionist entity announced this afternoon the bombing of an Islamic Jihad headquarters in the Syrian capital, Damascus. An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that none of the movement’s members were present at the headquarters, and that the bombing resulted in civilian casualties.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that three people were injured, including an elderly woman who sustained serious injuries, as a result of “an Israeli aggression that targeted a building in a project that was destroyed in Damascus.”

The Agency quoted the head of the Civil Defense in Damascus and its countryside, Hassan al-Hassan, who stated that the attack caused significant damage to a residential building, in addition to partial damage to two adjacent buildings. A fire broke out in the area but was later extinguished.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military mentioned in a statement that its fighter jets “attacked, under the direction of the Northern Command and the Intelligence Branch, a headquarters of the Islamic Jihad organization in the Damascus area, from which the organization was planning and carrying out hostile operations.” The military further emphasized that it “will not allow hostile organizations to establish themselves on Syrian territory and operate against the State of Israel, and will act forcefully against any such facility.”
