Najaf - The head of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council Ammar al-Hakim confirmed the need to hold the parliamentary elections on time.
"We will not accept the postponement of the elections for one day, because it is the biggest guarantee of preserving the spirit of democracy and keeping the country away from the constitutional vacuum," he said in a conference in Najaf.
"The postponement of the elections is a red line that cannot be discussed or negotiated."
Hakim called for an expanded regional conference including Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey to discuss points of difference.
Hakim stressed that the military battle against Daesh organization is a clean battle and its evidence that its number of martyrs in the armed forces is greater than the civilian martyrs.
