HEALTH MINISTER TIGHTENS REGULATIONS ON BEAUTY CLINICS FOLLOWING DEATH OF ONE WOMAN

Minister of Public Health, Ghassan Hasbani, has ordered strict measures to regulate the activities of beauty clinics, following the death of 33-year-old Farah Kassab at one of Lebanon's notorious plastic surgery hospitals.

A statement issued on Monday by the Minister's office indicated that regulations included the ban of surgeries requiring general anesthesia at Nader Saab Hospital, where Kassab, a Jordanian-Iraqi, had died after a liposuction operation.

Hasbani has also sent a letter to the State Prosecution and Beirut Physicians' Order, hereby urging a probe into the incident.
