BAGHDAD / House Speaker Salim al-Jubouri today discussed with the representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Iraq Jan Kubis the most prominent developments in the security and political situations in Iraq and the region, and ongoing liberation operations in the city of Mosul and the United Nations' role in shaping the political landscape and the future of the areas that were under the control of Daesh. "
The head of the parliament, during his meeting with Kubis today, confirmed that Iraqi security forces in all its different forms are fighting terrorism and inflicted the terrorists worst losses, adding that freeing Mosul has become a matter of time by the efforts and sacrifices of the Iraqis, calling on the UN and humanitarian organizations to make utmost efforts to aid the displaced and provide food and health support for them, after Daesh increased targeting them by bombing houses and blowing up cars in neighborhoods, which led to the fall of wounded and injured and they need care and attention. "
During the meeting, they reviewed the political realities, especially the settlement put forward by the Iraqi parties, backed by UN to end problems and bring the public peace in the country.
For his part, Jan Kubis said the United Nations and with the help of international organizations is seeking to provide all means of help and aid for displaced people in Mosul, stressing continued support for all Iraqi parties to end the obstacles to the process of stabilization in Iraq and find positive atmosphere.
