IRAQ NAMES FORMER AMBASSADOR TO KUWAIT AS REPRESENTATIVE TO U.N.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry, on Wednesday named, Mohammad Hussein Bahar, as Iraq's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN).

Bahar is replacing Ambassador Mohammad Abdul-Hakeem, who was named as UN Deputy Secretary General, the Ministry's Spokesperson, Ahmad Gamal, said, in a statement.

Bahar was formerly Iraq's first ambassador to Kuwait, after the Iraqi invasion of the country.
