The closure of Palestine Street east of Baghdad to hold mass rallies in celebration of Al-Quds Day

BAGHDAD / Since the dawn of the day, the security forces have closed Palestine Street and its entrances east of Baghdad to hold mass rallies and celebrations to celebrate the International Day of Al-Quds, which is in the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

It was customary in Iraq and in some Arab countries and Iran to celebrate this day on Al-Quds World Day to mobilize and establish anti-Zionist demonstrations and the occupation of the Zionist entity of Al-Quds, and to show its sanctity to Muslims and Christians, held every year on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

Khomeini, who called for the celebration in 1979, said: "I call on Muslims around the world to dedicate the last Friday of this holy month of Ramadan to the day of Al-Quds, and to proclaim the international solidarity of Muslims in supporting the legitimate rights of the Muslim people in Palestine.
