The US military admits killing of 54 civilians in air strikes in Iraq and Syria

BAGHDAD / The US military admits that the US-led coalition killed 54 civilians in the period between March 31 and 22 October, during the implementation of air strikes against Daesh targets in Iraq and Syria.

The military said in a statement that "in one of the raids, which were carried out in mid-July, near the Syrian city of Manbej they killed up to 24 civilians."

It added that the death toll brings the total number of civilians who were killed in the strikes of the coalition to 173 people since it began in 2014.
