100 Iraqi Citizens Voluntarily Return from Libya

Erbil: One hundred Iraqi citizens returning from Libya arrived in Erbil on Friday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release: “Following directives from Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, and through the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Iraqi Embassy in Libya, the voluntary return program for Iraqi migrants has resumed. Early Friday morning, January 23, 2026, (100) Iraqi citizens, the first group of (197) citizens currently in Libya, were returned to Erbil.”

The statement added: “The repatriation took place on the first flight of an Iraqi Air Force military aircraft, as part of the voluntary return program to their families in Iraq.”
