Baghdad:Minister of Agriculture Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari engaged with the Parliamentary Finance Committee to discuss the disbursement of farmers’ dues and the challenges facing the agricultural sector. The session also explored potential solutions to these issues.

According to the National Iraqi News Agency, The Ministry of Agriculture highlighted that the meeting, which included the Minister of Water Resources and the head of the General Union of Farmers’ Associations, focused on the needs and support requirements of farmers. Key topics included ensuring the continuity of production, boosting local products, and securing the necessary financial resources for the agriculture and water sectors.

Participants emphasized the importance of addressing the obstacles farmers face and securing their financial dues to stabilize agricultural production and support national products. Additionally, they discussed developing a comprehensive plan to revitalize and sustain the agricultural sector, including reallocating funds to overcome existing challenges and achieve production goals.
