Baghdad:The Ministry of Oil has announced the signing of a contract between the Oil Exploration Company and KAR Company to conduct 2D and 3D seismic surveys in the Sasan and Allan oil fields, located in the Nineveh Governorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the signing ceremony was held with the support of Minister of Oil Basim Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi. The event was attended by the Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs, the Undersecretary for Gas Affairs, ministry advisers, as well as directors general from relevant departments and companies.
The ministry’s statement highlighted that Al-Abadi was present for the signing of the contract with the Iraqi company KAR, aimed at carrying out seismic surveys in the exploration blocks of the Sasan and Allan fields.
Al-Abadi emphasized the ministry’s dedication to executing strategic plans that align with government objectives to enhance exploration activities. These efforts aim to increase oil and gas reserves and offset depleted resources.
He further underlined the necessity of completing the project within the designated timelines to successfully develop the fields and boost oil and gas production, in accordance with government and ministry directives. Al-Abadi also praised the ministry’s various departments for their contributions to implementing projects designed to expand production capacity.
