S¶dert¤lje: A Swedish prosecutor announced the release of five suspects who were detained in the case of the murder of Silwan Momika, who was shot dead in a house in the town of S¶dert¤lje near Stockholm. Momika, a 38-year-old Iraqi refugee, publicly burned a copy of the Holy Quran on several occasions, sparking widespread controversy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the police arrested five suspects, but the suspicions against them weakened as the investigation progressed, as stated by Chief Prosecutor Rasmus Ohman in a statement. However, the five are still subject to further investigation.

Silwan Momika appeared in court in Sweden after he burned and desecrated copies of the Holy Quran, publicly and live on social media, and the verdict in the case was scheduled to be issued just hours after his death. On Wednesday evening, Swedish police found Momika’s body in his apartment, where media reports indicated that he was broadcasting live on social media at the time of the incident. An unknown person reportedly broke into his room by breaking its window and shot him, causing the phone to fall to the ground and the broadcast continued for an hour, until the police arrived and ended it.
