Kurdistan Ministry of Finance Nears Resolution on Technical Issues with Federal Finance


Baghdad: The Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government has announced significant progress towards resolving technical issues with the Federal Ministry of Finance. Both ministries’ technical teams are nearing the completion of their collaborative efforts.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation has been in continuous meetings with the Federal Ministry of Finance for the second consecutive day in Baghdad. The Kurdistan Finance Ministry emphasized in a statement that the ongoing discussions aim to address and solve technical challenges, with expectations that the work will conclude imminently.



A meeting was convened at the residence of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, attended by a 20-member delegation from the regional government, led by the Kurdistan Minister of Finance. The session included participation from several general managers within the ministry, focusing on discussions about the December 2024 salary and projections for 2025 salaries.



The Minister of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Region, Awat Sheikh Janab, expressed optimism following the Baghdad meeting, describing it as positive regarding employee salaries. He conveyed hopes for a resolution by Sunday.
