Cairo: The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, confirmed today that the Women’s Rights Document serves as a reference for enacting laws specific to women. In a statement on the occasion of Arab Women’s Day, Al-Yamahi emphasized the importance of strengthening legislation that supports women, ensuring the preservation and protection of their rights. He underscored the need to enhance women’s empowerment and acknowledge their crucial role in building future generations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Yamahi highlighted the Arab Parliament’s commitment to supporting Arab women, noting the efforts made to launch the Arab Document on Women’s Rights. This document serves as a legislative framework and reference for Arab countries, aimed at enacting and updating laws related to Arab women’s rights. The initiative is a recognition of the significant role women play and an appreciation of their esteemed position in society.

Al-Yamahi also paid tribute to Arab women globally, with a special mention of Palestinian women. He acknowledged their symbolic representation of struggle and sacrifice amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, which has persisted for over a year and three months.
