Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani discussed with the Commander of Baghdad Operations, Lieutenant General Walid Al-Tamimi, efforts to enhance security and stability in the capital and its belt.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the Council of Representatives issued a statement that Al-Mashhadani received the Commander of Baghdad Operations on Friday. The meeting focused on the security challenges facing Baghdad and its surrounding areas, along with efforts to combat terrorism and improve cooperation between security services and the residents of the capital.

The Speaker of Parliament emphasized the critical need for coordination between different security agencies and the citizens to strengthen stability and security in Baghdad. The discussions also involved Al-Mashhadani’s review of the viewpoints and future plans presented by the Operations Command to bolster security on the outskirts of the capital and to prevent terrorist infiltrations in the Baghdad belt.
