Baghdad: Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, received former Speaker of Parliament and Head of the Progress Party, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, to discuss developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region, as well as upcoming entitlements.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Al-Hakim emphasized the importance of supporting the government in its service and development initiatives. He highlighted the necessity of empowering local governments, enabling them to implement their plans and programs while granting them their constitutional powers.
Furthermore, Al-Hakim underscored the need to amend the budget to enhance Iraqi state revenues and ensure social justice. He also stressed the importance of diversifying income sources and stimulating productive sectors.
Al-Hakim addressed regional developments, emphasizing the need for the Syrian people to manage their country, represent its components, and draft a permanent constitution. He highlighted the importance of national unity, societal cohesion, and resolving crises to confront challenges surrounding Iraq.
