Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has firmly rejected recent statements by Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, regarding the displacement of Palestinians. The Saudi Foreign Ministry described these remarks as an attempt to divert attention from the ongoing actions of the Israeli occupation in Gaza.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the official Saudi Press Agency released a statement emphasizing the Palestinian people’s right to their land, asserting that they are neither intruders nor immigrants who can be expelled at will by the Israeli occupation. The statement criticized the mindset behind such statements, labeling it as extremist and out of touch with the historical, emotional, and legal ties that Palestinians have to their land.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry further criticized the rejection of peace initiatives by Israel, stating that such extremist views have historically hindered the acceptance of peace and coexistence. The ministry condemned the systematic injustice faced by Palestinians for over 75 years, which disregards international laws and human rights enshrined in the United Nations Charter.

In its statement, Saudi Arabia reiterated its strong opposition to Netanyahu’s remarks, which it claims are designed to distract from the alleged crimes committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza, including ethnic cleansing. The Kingdom emphasized the enduring rights of the Palestinian people and called for a return to rational dialogue and acceptance of a two-state solution for lasting peace.

The statement also expressed appreciation for the condemnation and rejection of Netanyahu’s statements by several Arab countries, highlighting the importance of the Palestinian cause to Arab and Islamic nations. The Saudi Foreign Ministry decried the lack of basic human compassion in the reported destruction of Gaza, which has resulted in over 160,000 casualties, predominantly affecting children and women.
