Umm Qasr: The Ports Authority announced, today, Sunday, the seizure of human-used medicines and medical supplies prepared for smuggling at the northern Umm Qasr port.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate of the Northern Umm Qasr Port successfully intercepted three containers outside the customs area at the search and investigation point. These containers were found to contain human medicines, supplies and medical equipment, as well as mobile communication devices with a laptop, all of which were cleverly concealed behind various materials. Importantly, these items were not declared in the completed customs transaction and were prepared for smuggling.
The Authority further indicated that a formal seizure report was organized, and the seized items were referred to the Umm Qasr Northern Customs Police Station. This referral is for the purpose of presenting the items to the competent investigating judge.
