Arrest of a Drug Trafficking Gang and Multiple Suspects in Baghdad


Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command announced the arrest of a drug trafficking gang and a number of suspects in various areas of the capital, Baghdad. The Command forces apprehended individuals involved in crimes including “premeditated murder” and a gang involved in drug trafficking and promotion. This gang, consisting of two people, was found in possession of “crystal” methamphetamine and drug use devices. Additional arrests were made for crimes such as forgery, armed quarrels, and trespassing on public property, with unlicensed weapons and ammunition also seized.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, these arrests were made possible through regional search and inspection duties executed by the formations of the (First) Division of the Federal Police. The operations were supported by various agencies and intelligence services, targeting areas including Al-Nazimiyah, Al-Zafaraniyah, Al-Nahrawan, Al-Dawanem, Al-Baladiyat, Al-Fadhiliyah, Al-Amin, and Al-Rusafa.
