Baghdad: The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee has announced the set of laws slated for approval in the House of Representatives in the upcoming phase.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, MP Yasser Iskandar Witwit, a member of the committee, highlighted that among the key laws pending approval are amendments to the military retirement law and laws concerning mukhtars. These legislative proposals are currently under review and amendment.
Witwit emphasized that the successful approval of these significant laws in Parliament will hinge on achieving political consensus, akin to the previous legislative processes. He pointed out that a failure to reach the necessary legal quorum has been a stumbling block in the approval of laws and stressed the importance of addressing and mitigating this issue.
