Ankara: The "Anatolian Phoenix 2025" International Exercises concluded yesterday, Friday, as announced by the Turkish Ministry of Defense. Hosted by the Turkish Armed Forces at the third main air base in the central province of Konya, the exercise saw the participation of several countries, including the United States, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on its official account on the X platform that the maneuvers, which took place between May 12 and 23, were successfully completed. Notable participants included combat units from the United States, Germany, Azerbaijan, Italy, Qatar, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Saudi Arabia.

The "Anatolian Phoenix" maneuvers are among the most prominent international military exercises organized by Turkey since 2009. They aim to train special mission units to carry out personnel rescue operations in realistic combat environments and to enhance combat readiness and coordination among participating armies.

This year's exercises featured various operations, including the use of live ammunition, rescue and evacuation of wounded personnel, close air support, and dynamic targeting. Additional activities included parachute jumping and convoy protection exercises.

An open media phase was held on Thursday, where journalists were briefed on the details of the operations and the scenarios implemented. The participating aircraft and helicopters, both local and foreign, were also displayed, with officers from the participating countries present.
