Tehran: Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani confirmed on Wednesday that the exchange of indirect messages between Tehran and Washington is still ongoing, noting that the process began long before it was officially disclosed.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mohajerani stated that communication with the United States occurs through indirect channels and has not involved any formal or direct negotiations. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei further clarified that Tehran has not designated any country as an official mediator in this process. He explained that some regional states have sought to facilitate the exchange of messages in recent months, adding that Iran appreciates these efforts but has not recognized any party as an official mediator.

Earlier, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei reiterated his refusal to hold any direct talks with the United States, stressing that the disputes between the two countries are not solvable through direct negotiations.
