Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan engaged in discussions with his Saudi and Egyptian counterparts regarding the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. Fidan held separate phone conversations with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty to address the situation in Gaza and the preparations for upcoming activities related to the Palestinian issue at the UN General Assembly meetings.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions between Fidan and the foreign ministers are part of the broader diplomatic efforts surrounding the Palestinian issue, with several countries announcing their intention to recognize the State of Palestine during the UN General Assembly meetings this September. Countries including Britain, France, Australia, and Canada have expressed their intentions in this regard.

It is noted that among the 193 member states of the international organization, at least 149 countries currently recognize the Palestinian state, which was declared by the Palestinian leadership in exile in 1988. The discussions between the foreign ministers come at a crucial time as diplomatic activities continue to unfold on the international stage.
