Karbala: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has announced a series of solutions aimed at addressing the housing crisis across Iraq, emphasizing inclusivity for all citizens.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the launch of a real estate developer initiative in Karbala Governorate, which will introduce 14,000 housing plots, al-Sudani instructed governors to commence the allocation and distribution of serviced lands to educational and teaching staff, alongside other eligible individuals. The Prime Minister underscored that solutions have been formulated for the housing crisis that encompass all citizens, including employees, retirees, and those in the private sector. He stressed that distributing lands without essential services fails to resolve the housing crisis and results in poorly designed and serviced residential neighborhoods.

Al-Sudani elaborated that the government has provided multiple options for citizens, particularly teachers, to construct housing units. These options include accessing loans from the Housing Fund, the Real Estate Bank, and an initiative by the Central Bank. Additionally, decisions and directives have been issued to prepare lands for various ministries and security agencies to be included in the residential land distribution plan for serviced areas. Al-Sudani also announced the initiation of six new residential cities in Baghdad and other governorates, designed with a modern and contemporary approach and featuring a substantial proportion of green spaces.
