Baghdad Operations Command Arrests 26 Suspects, Including Foreigners, for Violating Residency and Citizenship Department Regulations


Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command announced the arrest of 26 suspects, including foreigners, for violating Residency and Citizenship Department regulations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command emphasized its ongoing efforts to enhance regional security and combat organized crime. The operations were conducted in collaboration with the Federal Police Division, the Commando Brigade, Baghdad Karkh and Rusafa Police Commands, and associated intelligence agencies. These efforts included search and inspection duties, as well as the establishment of temporary checkpoints, which ultimately led to the apprehension of the suspects.



The Command’s statement detailed that the arrests included a gang involved in theft crimes and the seizure of unlicensed weapons, alongside 16 foreigners who were found violating the terms and conditions set by the Residence and Nationality Department. The operations took place in various areas of Baghdad, including Al-Ghazaliya, Al-Radwaniyah, Al-Maamra, Raya and Sakina, Al-Amin, Abu Dhar Al-Ghafari, Al-Madain, Al-Haswa, Al-Naseem Commercial Complex, and Suwaib, on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.
