Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani has directed that the national football team players be honored following their victory over the UAE and subsequent qualification for the continental playoff for the 2026 World Cup. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister extended his congratulations to the national team players, coaching staff, and management on their successful qualification for the decisive continental playoff. In a phone conversation with Adnan Darjal, the President of the Iraqi Football Association, al-Sudani underscored the importance of this accomplishment as a pivotal step towards the World Cup finals.
