Baghdad: The exchange rate of the US dollar witnessed a decline in both Baghdad and Erbil markets on Wednesday evening as local stock exchanges closed their operations for the day.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the value of the dollar decreased in prominent Baghdad markets, including Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya. The rate plummeted to 142,000 Iraqi dinars per 100 US dollars from an earlier value of 142,250 dinars per 100 US dollars. The local market in Baghdad saw a reduction in selling prices to 143,000 dinars per 100 US dollars, while the buying price was recorded at 141,000 dinars per 100 US dollars.
In Erbil, the trend mirrored that of Baghdad, with the selling price of the dollar dropping to 141,000 dinars per 100 US dollars, and the buying price settling at 140,700 dinars per 100 US dollars.
