Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani launched, via video conference, the implementation of four road and bridge projects in the governorates of Najaf and Wasit, at a total cost of 374.8 billion dinars. These projects fall under the purview of the Supreme Committee for Million-Person Pilgrimages and the Ministry of Construction and Housing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the projects include the expansion and rehabilitation of the al-Kut-Baghdad road, which is expected to improve connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the area. Additionally, the construction of the second lane of the al-Dibouni-Jassan road and the al-Suwaira-Jbla Expressway aim to facilitate smoother transportation routes and enhance regional mobility.

The fourth project involves the construction of the fifth Kufa Bridge, which will connect Najaf International Airport with the Ghammas/Kufa District. This infrastructure development is anticipated to boost economic activities and provide better access to key areas within the governorates.
