Baghdad: The Military Intelligence Directorate announced on Wednesday the arrest of four drug dealers and traffickers in Baghdad.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directorate stated that the arrests were made following intelligence information and field surveillance conducted by the Intelligence and Security Department of the 17th Infantry Division. The operation was executed in a well-planned ambush in the Mahmoudiya district of Baghdad.
The statement further revealed that arrest warrants had been issued against the accused under Article (28) of the Narcotics Law. In addition to the arrests, narcotics and light weapons were seized from the individuals. The suspects and the seized evidence have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
