Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji met today with the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki. A statement by the National Security Advisory indicated that the meeting addressed the latest political developments on the Iraqi scene.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, emphasis was placed on the importance of capitalizing on the success of the parliamentary elections to achieve political balance and consolidate the democratic system in the country. Al-Araji and Al-Maliki also discussed the necessity of maintaining the momentum of security efforts to preserve the security gains achieved.
