Nineveh: A source in the Nineveh Police revealed that River Police units have recovered more than 30 drowned bodies from the Tigris River since the beginning of 2025. The victims were children and young adults in their twenties.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, “the drownings occurred in various parts of the river, mostly due to swimming in unauthorized areas and high water levels.” He emphasized the continuation of warning patrols and urged citizens to adhere to safety guidelines to ensure their well-being.
