Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, who is currently visiting Cairo, to discuss a number of regional issues of mutual interest.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Egyptian Presidency stated that during the meeting, al-Sisi outlined his country’s vision for restoring security and stability in the region. He affirmed Egypt’s full and continued support for Iraq, emphasizing its unity and territorial integrity, and expressed Egypt’s commitment to assisting in confronting the numerous challenges facing the region. Al-Sisi also praised the cooperation between Egyptian and Iraqi security agencies, as well as the efforts of the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to establish stability and peace.
Barzani acknowledged Egypt’s role in supporting Iraq and in restoring peace and stability. He expressed his aspiration to further strengthen cooperation with Egyptian institutions.
