Miami: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan warned that Israel’s ongoing violations of the ceasefire in Gaza are jeopardizing the peace plan and making the transition to the second phase extremely difficult, stressing that all parties involved share this view.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, speaking to reporters after an international meeting on Gaza held in Miami, Florida, with the participation of officials from the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, Fidan said discussions have begun on the criteria for moving to the second phase following the completion of the first stage.

He described the meeting as the most significant since the Sharm El-Sheikh summit, noting that while it was hopeful, it also addressed in detail the challenges faced during the first phase, particularly Israeli ceasefire violations.

Fidan said there was broad consensus on the need to prevent such violations, underlining the importance of intensified high-level consultations among the four mediators: the United States, Turkey,
Egypt, and Qatar.

Reconstruction of Gaza featured prominently in the talks, he added, stressing Turkey’s three core principles: Gaza must be governed by its own people, its territory must not be divided, and all efforts must serve the interests of its residents.

The minister also noted discussions on transferring Gaza’s administration to a technocratic committee, the potential establishment of an international stabilization force, and the urgent need to increase humanitarian aid, especially shelter assistance as winter approaches.

Separately, Fidan highlighted the US mediation role in both Gaza and Ukraine files, revealing parallel discussions with American, European, Ukrainian, and Russian officials, during which Turkey presented its perspective on the latest peace efforts.
