Hadramawt: Saudi warplanes launched airstrikes this afternoon, Friday, targeting various positions of the Southern Transitional Council forces in the Khash’ah area of Hadramawt Governorate. These airstrikes coincided with ground movements of the Homeland Shield forces coming from the Al-Abr area towards a number of camps surrounding Khash’ah, as part of the “Taking Over the Camps” operation launched by the governor of Hadramawt.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, earlier this morning, Friday, the Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Al-Khanbashi, announced the launch of the “Taking Over the Camps” operation to peacefully and systematically take over military sites from the Southern Transitional Council forces. Meanwhile, the Council called for support for the Hadrami Elite Forces and declared a general mobilization in Hadramawt.

Al-Khanbashi stated that the operation is not a declaration of war or an escalation, but rather a precautionary measure to protect security and prevent chaos. He emphasized that it is directed exclusively at military camps and sites and does not target civilians or political groups.

Al-Khanbashi called upon the sheikhs and dignitaries of Hadramawt, as well as all community forces, to fulfill their national and historical role, affirming that Hadramawt has always been and will remain a land of peace and wisdom, and that it will not be allowed to be dragged into chaos or used as a bargaining chip.

Al-Khanbashi’s statements came after he was appointed by the head of the Yemeni Leadership Council, Rashad al-Alimi, to assume the general command of the Homeland Shield Forces in the governorate. The appointment decree stipulated that al-Khanbashi possesses full military, security, and administrative powers to achieve the restoration of security and order in the governorate.
