Sanitation Worker Rescued from Sewage Drain in Shula Area

Baghdad: Civil Defense teams successfully rescued a sanitation worker who fell into a sewage drain in the Shula area of northwest Baghdad. The worker lost consciousness after inhaling methane gas.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a Civil Defense statement confirmed that specialized teams acted swiftly to extract the worker. They provided first aid and CPR before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The Civil Defense Directorate highlighted the critical need for safety measures when entering sewage drains. These include the use of gas extraction devices and protective equipment such as masks to prevent the risk of suffocation.
