Doha: Qatar’s foreign ministry has confirmed that it is in ongoing contact with both Iran and the United States, supporting all forms of dialogue aimed at reducing regional tensions. This move underscores Qatar’s continued role in diplomatic mediation efforts across the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Majed Al-Ansari, a spokesperson for Qatar’s foreign ministry, emphasized the availability of diplomatic and political solutions, noting that Doha is not imposing any time limits on dialogue or mediation efforts. On the matter of Gaza, Al-Ansari highlighted the complexities involved in halting the ongoing conflict, which necessitates sustained engagement. He further stated that Qatar is actively mediating to reopen the Rafah crossing and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, with ongoing contacts in this regard.

Al-Ansari also reiterated Qatar’s position against using humanitarian assistance as a tool for political pressure. He mentioned that Qatar is collaborating with other mediators to help advance the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, reflecting the nation’s commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region.
