London: Hundreds of people gathered outside the British Prime Minister’s Office in London to protest the illegal United States attack on Venezuela and the abduction of the country’s president, calling for his immediate release and return.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the protest took place on Monday afternoon local time, with participants holding placards and Venezuelan flags. They condemned the policies of US President Donald Trump and chanted slogans demanding an end to wars and accountability for those responsible for the attack on Caracas.

Protesters also denounced US unilateralism and the instrumental use of democracy and human rights, stressing that a military attack on a sovereign state and the detention of its president constitute a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law.

The demonstrators urged the British government to formally condemn Washington’s actions, pressure the White House to immediately halt military operations, and help ensure the Venezuelan president’s return.

One protester said the attack was a blatant assault on national sovereignty and warned that Britain should not become complicit through silence. Another participant rejected claims that the operation was linked to democracy or counter-narcotics, arguing it was driven by oil and resources.

The US attack on Saturday triggered international reactions, with Iran, Russia, and others condemning it. Despite the UK government’s cautious stance, senior British lawmakers across parties have labeled the operation illegal and warned against the spread of a law of the jungle in international relations.
