Baghdad: The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, affirmed that Iraq today differs from previous periods in terms of security stability, safety levels, and quality of life, noting that these positive transformations constitute an important foundation for strengthening cooperation with international partners. This came during his meeting this morning, Thursday, at his office in Baghdad, with the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, where they discussed issues of common interest and ways to develop bilateral relations in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their friendly peoples. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim reviewed the nature of the ongoing dialogues to complete the electoral requirements and form the government, explaining that the recent elections were characterized by smooth participation, the swift announcement of results, and the absence of significant objections. This positively impacted the election of the Speaker of Parliament a nd his two deputies within the constitutional timeframes, while emphasizing the importance of adhering to these timeframes in the remaining requirements. The meeting addressed the challenges facing Iraq, foremost among them the economic challenge. Al-Hakim stressed the need for the next government to diversify sources of income and end the Iraqi economy's dependence on fluctuating oil prices. He affirmed that Iraq is capable of overcoming these challenges with the support, unity, and understanding of the current political phase and its requirements among its political forces.
