Baghdad: The National Security Council held its first meeting of 2026 today, chaired by National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji, with attendance from council members.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the council focused on reviewing its 2025 achievements and addressed several agenda topics, resulting in essential decisions and recommendations. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to discussing the regulation and management of aircraft and helicopters associated with both government agencies and the private sector, leading to a decisive outcome.
The council also examined the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Iraq and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Slovenia,” where necessary decisions were made to advance this international collaboration.
