Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with Vahid Jalalzadeh, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular and Parliamentary Affairs, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release: “During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, with both sides emphasizing the importance of developing and enhancing areas of joint cooperation in a way that serves mutual interests and promotes stability in the region.”
The two sides also discussed the need to activate the work of the Iraqi-Iranian Committee for Consular Affairs and to prepare for its next meeting in Baghdad, which will contribute to addressing consular issues and facilitating matters for citizens of both countries.
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister briefed Minister Fuad Hussein on the latest developments in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the protests that have taken place in some cities, stressing the importance of continuing joint efforts to support regional stability.
