Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi met with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the economy and energy sectors.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Parliament’s media office stated in a press release, “At the beginning of the meeting, the French Ambassador congratulated the Speaker on his election to the sixth parliamentary term, wishing him success.”

The meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, including the economy and energy. Regional and international developments were also discussed.
