Iran: Iran’s Mission to the United Nations called on the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General on Wednesday to condemn the United States’ interference in Iran’s internal affairs, as well as its threats to use force, following statements made by US President Donald Trump.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a written message, the Mission stated: “The Secretary-General and the Security Council, and especially its responsible members, must fulfill their obligations under the UN Charter by unconditionally condemning all forms of incitement to violence, threats to use force, and interference in Iran’s internal affairs by the United States.”
Iran’s UN Ambassador, Amir Saeed Irvani, said in the message: “The United States and the Israeli regime bear direct and indisputable legal responsibility for the loss of innocent civilian lives, particularly among young people.”
The letter came in response to a social media post by Trump earlier on Tuesday, in which he called on Iranian protesters to seize government buildings.
