Iraq Expresses Solidarity with Spain Following Train Collision


Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condolences and deepest solidarity with the Kingdom of Spain on Monday following a train collision in the south of the country, which resulted in dozens of casualties, both dead and injured.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement, the Ministry said, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its deepest solidarity with the friendly Kingdom of Spain following the tragic accident caused by the collision of two trains in the south of the country, which resulted in dozens of casualties, both dead and injured.”



The statement added, “The Ministry extends its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of the Kingdom of Spain, and to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.”



The statement continued, “While the Republic of Iraq shares in Spain’s grief, it affirms its solidarity with Spain during these difficult times,” expressing “its confidence in the ability of the Spanish authorities to overcome the effects of this tragic incident.”
